Zapiekanki is polish pizza, and served on a long baguette cut in half and topped with cheese and your favourite toppings.

Tips: head over to Plac Nowy in Kazimierz for the best zapiekanki in Krakow. So delicious!

Obwarzanek Krakowski

The popular pretzels, called Obwarzanek krakowski, are iconic for Krakow. You can buy them from small blue carts around the city. They are loved by both locals and tourists. And very picturesque!

Paczki

Paczki is a delicious pastry, almost like a donut. Big, with plenty of filling and very light dough. It’s so popular that it’s even got its own annual holiday – Fat Thursday. And it’s no joke!

Pierogi

Pierogies are polish dumplings and if there’s one dish you have to try – it’s pierogies. You can have them with different kinds of filling, and they are sold in cafes, restaurants and the famous Bar Mlecznys (milk bars).

Tips: Camelot cafe has delicious pierogies. Located only 3 minutes from Main Square.

Lody

Lody is the polish word for ice cream. One of the best things about Krakow, is that you can find a ice cream bar on almost every corner in the city. Polish people love their ice cream!

Visit the Krakow mounds

Krakow mounds is located in Podgorze District and offers a panoramic view over Krakow city. The mounds are specially worth a visit if you want to get away from the crowds in the Old Town.

Tips: watch the sunset from the top of the Mounds. The view is at its best when the sky is clear.

Explore Podgorze

In the heart of Podgorze you can visit the stunning St. Joseph’s Church (location: Jana Zamoyskiego 2). It looks more like a Disney castle than a church. You can go here at any time of the day, and you will have the place for your self. A must-visit when in Krakow.

Tips: When your are in Podgorze make sure to check out the Rainbow Stairs – A Instagrammable spot nearby (Address: Tatrzańska 5/7).

A day trip to Zakopane

Zakopane is the perfect one-day tour destination from Krakow, and is known as the Poland’s winter capital. You can take the local bus or choose from various tour operators. It takes about 2 hours to get there by bus or car.

The love-lock bridge

The love-lock bridge over the Vistula River is located between two popular districts: Kazimierz and Podgorze. The bridge is also called Father Bernatek Footbridge, and is a lovely place to walk or hang a padlock with your love.

Visit the terrace at the Music Academy

The cafe at Metrum Restobistro is located on the 6th floor of the Krakow Music academy. Visit the rooftop terrace for a stunning view of St. Marys Church and Wawel Hill. The perfect spot for breakfast or lunch, or just a coffee. A hidden gem in Krakow!

Tips: if you are lucky you can catch a beautiful sunrise. Metrum has two terraces – make sure to visit both. You won’t be disappointed!

The Town Hall Tower in Krakow is located right behind The Cloth Hall (Sukiennice) and offers a panoramic view over The Main Market Square and St. Mary’s Church. Here is the information you need on how to visit the museum.

Panoramic view

The tower is 70 meters high and known as Krakow’s leaning tower. From the top floor you will get a panoramic view over St. Mary’s Church and the Main Market square. It’s worth climbing the 120 steps to see the incredible view.

Ticket price

The ticket costs 12 PLN and and can be bought at the Museum ticket office in the first floor. Just walk through the door and go all the way in.

Tips: Free admission on Mondays

St. Mary’s is located in the heart of the old town, and is probably one of the most photographed spots in Krakow. Can you see the tallest tower on the photo? You can visit it for panoramic view of the Main Square.

A hidden gem in Krakow! It can be hard to find, but the incredible view makes it worth a visit. It’s also the perfect spot for breakfast, coffee or lunch. Is you are really lucky you can catch a magical sunset behind St. Mary’s Church. One of my favorite viewpoints in Krakow.

Photo tips: Metrum has two terraces. Make sure to visit both for the best city view!

Mr. Pancake Krakow

Probably the coolest place to eat in Krakow. Fluffy pancakes with cotton candy, and pink drinks with sparkle. Can it be more Instagrammable than this? Only a short ten minutes walk from The Main Square.

Location: Dolnych Mlynow 10, 31-124 Krakow.

Wawel Castle and Cathedral

Wawel Castle and Cathedral is located on Wawel hill, only 10 minutes from the Main Market Square. A must-visit when in Krakow. In spring and summer the garden is full of beautiful flowers, and you can visit the outside area for free.

Galeria LueLue

If you are visiting Krakow, stop by this cute little gallery in Kazimierz. A charming shop full of history, black and white photographs and vintage postcards. Look for the flower bike and place to kiss sign outside.
